Cigdem Aytekin
Born in 1971 in Turkey. After her computer engineering bachelor degree in1993 from Bosphorus University, she worked for a big bank, first as software developer than as project lead. She lead the software engineering team for the first banking call centre project in Turkey.
After moving to the Netherlands in 1998, she started working for a large technology company in the Netherlands. In 2002, during her pregnancy, she stopped working with the intention of coming back in a few years.
However, life took a different direction than planned and when she started looking for a job again, it was year 2012! She completed her master’s degree in Software Engineering in 2014, with honours. In 2015, she got back to the professional life.
She’s now working for RIPE NCC as a Senior Software Engineer. Her main expertise is in the back-end (Java, Spring and relational databases), but she also knows a few things about Scala and front-end frameworks, too… In addition to software engineering, she was also the Scrum Master of the team for about three years.
She’s married and have a daughter, who is two years old now.
