Since September 2022, Rocío López Valladolid is Chief Information Officer (CIO) and a member of ING Spain & Portugal’s Executive Committee. Her extensive experience in the IT sector, combined with her strategic vision and passion for technology, has been instrumental in driving the bank's digital transformation and improving our customers' experience.

Rocío joined ING in 2008, starting her career in the Architecture team of ING Spain. Since then, she has achieved significant milestones and served in several key positions both locally and globally, such as her role as Head of Architecture of the global technology innovation program to develop a multi country platform in the ING Group. In her most recent role, as Global Head of Delivery, she led the technology strategy and development of global programs for all countries where the ING Group has retail banking.

Rocío received the 'Distinguished Career' Award from the Association of Technical Telecommunications Engineers (COITT) in October 2024. A year earlier, she was named "CIO of the Year" at the Vocento Cionet Awards and at the CIO 100 Awards Spain, recognizing her contributions, leadership and team management in the field of technology.

Rocío holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Carlos III and has completed a General Management Program at IESE Business School.

Rocío comes from a small town in Cuenca and always dreamed of becoming an engineer. Music is a passion she shares with her son and husband. She ran the New York marathon and is ready for a race whenever possible.
