Speaker Bio
Isabel began her career as a journalist and (later) editor, specializing in medicine, health, and science. Since 2005 she has worked as an independent trainer and coach, with a focus on communication skills training, message development, and storytelling for business.
Isabel has helped executives from all sectors, including the tech and pharma industries, to communicate powerful messages to a variety of audiences, through media interviews, presentations, meetings, and negotiations, and to develop their unique value propositions in the workplace. She has also served as moderator for advisory boards and at press conferences.
In 1992, following a personal experience with the pregnancy complication pre-eclampsia, Isabel set up a UK-based patient advocacy group, which is now international. She co-authored, with Professor Chris Redman of Oxford University, the award-winning book, Pre-eclampsia: The Facts, followed by Understanding Pre-eclampsia.
Fun Fact: Isabel knows a huge number of Shakespeare soliloquies—including all of Hamlet’—off by heart and often recites them to relieve the tedium of solo car journeys.
