Speaker Bio
Maja has over 27 years’ experience in the tech industry. She has a degree in Computer Science and started her career at University of Novi Sad, Serbia later moving to the private sector as a Software Developer.
In 2000 Maja moved to the UK with her family, where she continued her career as a Senior Software Engineer. A couple of years later she took her first leadership position as a Software Engineering Manager. The following 10 years Maja spent leading teams in delivering software solutions for travel and finance sectors before joining Rentalcars.com in March 2013 which then became part of Booking.com. After a successful period of managing a highly entrepreneurial Software Engineering function at Booking.com, Maja stepped up to a Director of Engineering role in October 2017. In 2022 she was promoted to Senior Director of Engineering, further increasing her leadership responsibilities.
Maja has passion for growing people, technology and innovation but also enjoys travelling and is keen on an active and healthy lifestyle.
